This summer we’re making flags, banners and bunting to help celebrate Dalston. Join artist Nicola Plant in the first of two Easter workshops, inspired by the banners in the Hackney Peace Carnival Mural just outside the Garden, children will be making miniature flags to take home and starting to design bigger banners and bunting. We’ll be taking design inspiration for the flags from the Mural and from the flowers, leaves, and creatures in the Garden.
No need to worry if the weather is cool, as the workshop will be taking place inside the warmth of the Garden’s Pineapple House greenhouse.
Holiday workshops are free to take part in but donations are always welcome! Workshops are suitable for children aged 5-12, but younger children are welcome to attend along with a parent or carer. All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
