A buzzy summer at the Garden

Wednesday 3 April 2013: Get buzzy children’s workshop

Excitement is growing about a special bee project at the Garden this year. So to help put the focus on bees, children can come along this Wednesday and get busy creating beautiful bee puppets and fantastic flowers with maker Laura Halliwell. Using simple paper craft and construction techniques, participants can make their own friendly bees to take away, as well as designing and making colourful flowers for the bees to land on! They will also get to taste delicious honey harvested here in Dalston, and learn more about bees from our very own Dalston bee keeper who keeps a hive very near to the Garden. This is a drop in session – pop in for 20 minutes or stay as long as you like and no need to worry if its cold because ‘Get Buzzy’ will take place inside the Pineapple House.

There will be two more afternoons of free activities for children, 2-4pm on Thursday 4 & Friday 5 April with artist Nicola Plant and more free activities Wednesday to Friday next week.

Holiday workshops are free to take part in but donations are always welcome! Workshops are suitable for children aged 5-12, but younger children are welcome to attend along with a parent or carer. All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
