Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 July, 2-5pm
We are planning a summer of designing, constructing, cooking, gardening and drawing, to keep children busy in the Garden over the holidays.
To start the programme off, architect Hiromi Maier is leading two free afternoon workshops for the first week of the holidays.
Hiromi, who works closely with the Japanese Youkei Design Organisation, is interested in exploring the forms and relationships that are found in nature. She believes in the power of crafting with our hands. She has devised an ingenious way of recycling fruit juice cartons to construct lampshades inspired by nature, which we plan to hang in the Garden’s pavilion.
The workshops will start at 2pm each day – please come on time and don’t forget to bring a juice carton!
