Botanical Sun-printing in the Garden

Sunday 31 July 2022, 2pm, 3pm & 4pm

Discover ‘camera-less’ photographic printing techniques with Dalston resident and artist photographer Heather McDonough in these one hour workshops for adults and family groups. ‘Sun-printing’ is inspired by the birth of photography and photographers Fox Talbot and Anna Atkins, who made some of their earliest images using flowers and plants.

You will learn how to produce cyanotype prints and discover how to make wonderful compositions from wildflowers and grasses found in the Curve Garden, using this intriguing process.

Heather has been a professional photographer for twenty years, making work for numerous public commissions and exhibitions in the UK and abroad. She is also a senior lecturer in photography at London Metropolitan University.

There are three sessions in total, starting at 2, 3 & 4pm. We don’t take bookings, but places are limited and are offered on a ‘first come first served’ basis for each session, so we recommend you come early to avoid disappointment. The workshops are free.
