We are delighted that Nick Griffiths, the man behind Dalston’s ‘Land of Kings’ festival is taking part in the Run Hackney Half Marathon on Sunday 10 May to raise funds for the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden. The money raised by Nick will help ensure that we can continue to offer an extensive year-round programme of free cookery workshops for Hackney children, young people, community groups and schools. Since the Garden opened in 2010, we have offered regular free workshops making pizzas in our wood-fired oven, as well as sessions making pasta and smoothies and other tasty, fresh food. The sessions offer a chance to learn how to cook, to enjoy healthy, fresh garden produce and most of all to have great fun cooking outdoors in the Garden with friends, neighbours and family.
You can help the Garden continue to offer the cookery programme by pledging some money to Nick on his Indiegogo page. The more you pledge, the more we can offer and the more schools, children, young people and community groups can benefit. Even if Nick’s listed target is reached, please do keep pledging, as we need to raise as much money as possible to ensure we can offer a cookery packed programme this year.
Do make sure to go out on Sunday morning to cheer Nick on and show your appreciation for his support for the Garden!
