The African and African-Caribbean Design Diaspora (AACDD), a new three year creative programme will be launched in the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden with start-up exhibitions, events and initiatives taking place in various parts of London.

The programme is organised by the British European Design Group (BEDG), co-funded by the Arts Council England/Lottery Fund and works in partnership with the London Design Festival (LDF).

AACDD say “The evening launch is open to all members of African and African-Caribbean communities, interested individuals, officials, creatives, designers, artists, the AACDD partner organisations as well as this year’s participants, family and friends and – of course – the PRESS.”

Sunday 3 October, 1-6pm

Have you been growing your own fruit, vegetables or herbs in Dalston this summer? Are you proud of your pumpkins, spent hours turning your tomatoes into  chutney, harvested your first apples? Then why not bring them along on Sunday 3 October 1-6pm when we will be harvesting the food that we’ve planted at the Garden and celebrating the edible plants that Hackney residents have been nurturing this summer. The Eastern Curve Gardeners will be around to talk about growing food at the Garden, there will be tomato expertise, plant swapping and hopefully lots and lots of Dalston produce – you can’t get more local than that.
