Sunday 8 December 2013, 2 – 8pm
Dalston jeweller Kate Hodgson has gathered together a selection of local designer makers for a Christmas afternoon in the Garden pavilion selling original handcrafted and vintage gifts.
Kate will be there with a selection of her jewellery and she will also be drawing and making badges inspired by the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden.
East London based Tinatin Westwood will be bringing her Boutiqa label digitally printed fine silk scarves.
Jeweller Elizabeth Bone has collaborated with her product designer husband Andy Bardill to produce laser cut perspex Christmas decorations. They are available in a frosted colourless finish and there are three different designs – star, round flake and square flake with each decoration consisting of a positive and negative pair.
Stoke Newington based ‘Elsie and George’ sells vintage and antique prints, posters and collectables. Also on offer are hand selected vintage books, comics, magazines and postcards. In keeping with the Garden, this Sunday there will be a special focus on birds and botanicals!
The ‘Festival of Light’ will continue with the lighting up of all of the jam jar, paper bag and vegetable lanterns and the giant greenhouse lantern. You can join in our final free magical lantern workshop from 2-4pm, make a pompom to tie on to the Garden’s Christmas tree or learn how to make a winter wreath from ivy with local resident Diana Weir.
The wood-burning stove will keep the Pineapple House warm and cosy and the Garden Cafe will be serving hot soup, spiced cider, mulled wine, hot chocolate and seasonal treats.
