Sunday 29 January, 1-4pm
Join us at the Curve Garden for a weekend of activities learning about and celebrating birds, to mark this month’s RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.
Help feed the birds in Dalston in these winter months, by transforming a recycled juice carton into a decorated bird-feeder, in a free drop-in afternoon collaging session at the Garden.
Artists Bella McEvoy and Corinne Beaty will guide you in the art of collaging before the finished bird-feeders are filled with seeds and hung up in the Garden’s trees for our resident birds to enjoy. All of the materials will be provided, but participants are also welcome to bring their own magazines with images of colourful flowers, plants or nature.
The collaging session will take place inside the cosy Pineapple House and our Cafe will be open selling hot drinks and mulled wine and cider.
The afternoon starts at 1pm. There is no need to book and you can drop in any time. Please note that as space is limited, there will be a maximum capacity of 10 people at any one time.
These workshops are open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.
The workshops are supported by Hackney Council’s Hackney High Street Fund.
You can take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch by spending one hour counting all the birds you see in your garden or local park. We hope you will take part here at the Curve Garden and we will have some bird identification guides and other resources for you to use.
