Saturday 28 January, 12.30 – 2pm & 2.30 – 4pm
Join us at the Curve Garden for a weekend of activities learning about and celebrating birds, to mark this month’s RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.
Artists Bella McEvoy and Corinne Beaty will lead two free workshops where you decorate a beautiful hanging bird.
You will be provided with your own small ‘clay’ birds to decorate, using a range of mark-making techniques, guided by the workshop artists, and taking inspiration from folk art traditions and the birds you can see in the Curve Garden.
The hanging birds will then form part of a community artwork for display in the Curve Garden this Spring. You will also be given a second ‘clay’ bird to keep which you can decorate during the workshop or at home.
These workshops are designed for adults and for young people over 12 years of age, who must be accompanied by an adult.
The sessions will take place inside the cosy Pineapple House and our Cafe will be open selling hot drinks and mulled wine and cider.
Places for each workshop are free but limited, so booking is essential. You can book via the links below:

The ‘Decorating Birds’ workshops are supported by Hackney Council’s Hackney High Street Fund.
You can take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch by spending one hour counting all the birds you see in your garden or local park. We hope you will take part here at the Curve Garden and we will have some bird identification guides and other resources for you to use.
