Shadow Lantern Workshops

Thursdays 24 November & 1 December, 5.30pm-7pm & 7.30-9pm

Every year the Garden’s Rainbow Greenhouse is transformed into a magical shadow lantern, using cut-out paper silhouettes. This community artwork brings colour and light in the dark winter months and is a highlight for visitors in the Garden’s seasonal calendar.

This winter, as well as re-displaying treasured silhouettes, we are creating several new shadow panels for the Rainbow Greenhouse Lantern, taking inspiration from nature and the Curve Garden. You can craft your own silhouette artwork for the display in one of our four free community paper-cutting workshops. All materials will be supplied.

These workshops are designed for adults and for young people over 14 years of age, who must be accompanied by an adult.

The sessions will take place inside the cosy Pineapple House and our Cafe will be selling  hot drinks and mulled wine and cider.

Please note, as the artwork silhouettes will form part of our community installation, they need to be left at the Garden after the workshop.

Places for each of our four workshops are limited and booking is essential. You can book via the links below:
