The Dalston Children’s Festival is happening all over the neighbourhood this year again on Saturdays 27 May & 3 June. In today’s workshops, children can help prepare for the Festival by working with textile artist Emamoke Ukeleghe to make hand-painted flags for bunting. Last year the Festival Flags were the ‘talk of the town’ as they marked all the venues taking part in the Dalston Children’s Festival.
The holiday workshops are most suitable for children aged 5 – 11, although younger children are very welcome, as long as their parent or carer works alongside them. Children under the age of 10 should be accompanied by an adult.
Children’s workshops are free, but we depend on your donations to help us cover our costs, so please support our work and come prepared!
We do not take bookings for our children’s activities, but places are limited, so please come early to avoid disappointment.
Wednesday 5, Friday 7 & Thursday 13 April 2017, 2-5pm
Children can join pizza Chef David Latto and his team to create their own fresh pizza from scratch, before baking it in the Garden’s wood-fired oven.
Each session lasts about one half-hour and children can then enjoy their own tasty pizza picnic in the Garden. No pre-booking is required for pizza making, but we recommend you come early to avoid disappointment, as our pizza making sessions are very popular! Just put your children’s names on our list on arrival and we call when we have a place. The Garden is has lots of space for children to play while they wait.
All of our children’s workshops are free, but we do ask for donations to help cover the costs. It’s ‘donate what you can’.
We give priority in our workshops to children aged 5+ but if there is space, we will fit in younger children as long as they are working with their adult.
