Saturday 17 September, 7-11pm (entrance to the garden is free)

Sound Tracks is a pioneering one-day music festival linking venues on both sides of the Thames, via London Overground’s East London Line. The festival takes in three of East London’s innovative music venues: Dalston’s Cafe Oto; Concrete in Shoreditch and the Amersham Arms in New Cross, with support from the New Cross Inn and the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden.

A range of acts will be playing live on the ‘Travelling Stage’ inside the trains, along the route, before making their way over to play short sets at the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden. Here’s the current line-up:
7pm Cambodian Space Project
7.30 Zoe Konez
8pm The First Fleet
8.30pm Fabian Holland
9pm Bossalada
9.30pm Tabitha Benjamin
10pm HowAboutBeth

We will also be selling drinks on the night and you can enjoy pizzas freshly cooked in our clay oven, made with ingredients grown in the Garden.

Entrance to the Garden is free and you will also be able buy and collect wristbands for the other venues to see headlining acts including abstract dance music innovator Fantastic Mr. Fox, rhythmic jazz quartet Shabaka & The Sons of Kemet, and energetic garage punk frontwoman Marina Gasolina, formerly of Baile Funk band Bonde do Role.

Event organisers Amanda Lwin and Carolina Garcia say. “The East London Line perfectly links up some of London’s best venues for independent music. New music is migrating outwards from central London: Sound Tracks Festival is about joining the dots.”

Every September, Open House London celebrates architecture, with over 700 buildings opening their doors to everyone for free – this year it’s happening over the weekend of 17 and 18 September.

If you want to hear the story of how the derelict Eastern Curve railway was transformed into a community garden, we will be offering free talks for groups of up to 20 people, at 12noon, 2pm and 4pm on Saturday 17 September. No need to book – just turn up, but it’s first come first served!

Details and opening times of all buildings and events during Open House London, including the many events happening in Hackney, can be viewed here www.londonopenhouse.org
