October 2019 in the Garden

During the month of October, the Garden is still open every day from 11am until 7pm and until 10pm on Wednesdays – Sundays.

Our Cafe is open daily during Garden opening times, selling delicious home made soups and our freshly baked cakes, as well as our selection of local craft beers, cider and wine. With each purchase you make in our Cafe you help keep the Garden open every day and support our year-round community events and education programmes.

Latto’s Pizzas are served fresh from the wood-fired oven on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The highlight of October (if not the whole year!) is our annual Pumpkin Lantern Festival! Once again we invite children, young people and adults to help carve hundreds of pumpkins for are lighting up throughout the Garden every night for 8 nights. Last year we had over 1,000 pumpkin lanterns filling every corner of the Garden and it really was spectacular!

Pumpkin carving sessions takes place this year on:

Saturday 19 October, 12 noon – 4pm
Sunday 20 October, 12 noon – 3pm

Pumpkin Lantern Light up nights take place:

Monday 21 – Sunday 27 October, 6pm – 9pm.

This year once again entrance to our first Light Up night on Sunday 20 October, 6-8pm is only for all of the adults and children who have carved  lanterns in our sessions on 19 & 20. It’s the least we can do to thank them, as without them there would be no Lantern Festival!

Please note that the Garden will close to the public from 4-6pm on Sunday 20th, to allow us to display and light up all of the lanterns!
