The ‘Dalston Children’s Festival’ will be taking place on Saturdays 28 May and 4 June 2016 and children can get involved with this special art project to help mark the occasion!
Taking their inspiration from the banners and flags of the Hackney Peace Carnival Mural just outside the Garden and all the activities happening during the Festival, they will work with textile artists Yemi Awosile and Emamoke Ukeleghe. Using techniques like stenciling and screen-printing, they will design unique flags which will be used to decorate the places and spaces all over Dalston that are taking part in the Children’s Festival.
Our holiday workshops are most suitable for children aged 5 – 11, although younger children are very welcome, as long as a parent or carer works alongside them.
We receive no grant-funding for our children’s holiday programmes, so we ask everyone to please try to make a donation to help cover costs.
