December at the Garden is all about brightening up the darkness of winter with magical lanterns in the Garden, late night openings, warming treats from our cafe and our special advent calendar shining a light on some of Hackney’s amazing charities.
Our ‘Festival of Light’ is back, illuminating the Garden with hand-crafted lanterns and the annual transformation of our Rainbow Greenhouse into a magic shadow lantern. The Christmas tree is decked out with hand-made paper decorations inspired by nature and we have fresh winter flowering and evergreen plants in abundance.
The Garden and cafe are open every day from 11am – 7pm, with extended openings for lantern ‘Light Nights’ on Wednesdays to Sundays until 10pm. We’ll be serving mulled wine, spiced cider and hot toddies, as well as hot chocolate, delicious cakes and other seasonal treats. ‘Latto’s Pizzas’ will be served fresh from the wood-fired oven from 2pm on Sundays 1, 8 and 15 and Saturdays 7 & 14 December – as always, weather permitting!

This December we are once more using Twitter (@easterncurve), Instagram (@dalstongarden) and Facebook to shine a light on the many organisations that do amazing work, all year round, supporting people and the environment in Hackney. We hope you take a few moments each day to look out for our posts and if possible make a donation to these organisations, or volunteer your time, or simply help us spread the word about their vital work that, in our eyes, makes Hackney such a special place.

December Opening Times
The Garden is open every day from 11am until 7pm and until 10pm on Wednesdays – Sundays. Our last day of opening before Christmas and New Year is Saturday 21 December, closing at 10pm. The Garden will reopen at 11am on Friday 3 January 2020.
