Sunday 20 – Thursday 31 October
Over 1,000 pumpkin lanterns that have been carved by children, young people and adults during the Garden’s annual Dalston Pumpkin Lantern Festival will be lit up in every corner of the Garden every night. Walking among them is a truly magical experience!
Here’s what you need to know for planning your visit:
When are the pumpkin lanterns lit up?
Monday 21 – Thursday 31 October, 6 – 9pm
Is there an entrance fee?
We do not charge an entrance fee for the Light-up nights. However this year we are asking visitors to make a donation to help raise funds for our special ‘Dalston Curve Garden Turns 10’ 2020 programme of free activities for children and young people. Please help us make next year’s programme a huge success by remembering to bring some cash and by giving generously!
Will I have to queue to come in?
Entrance numbers to nightly light-ups are limited and on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. On some nights which are particularly busy, please be aware that you may have to queue.
Can I help light up all of the pumpkins?
Every evening from Monday 21 – Thursday 31 October, we welcome children and young people to help our team of volunteers light up all of the lanterns throughout the Garden. If you would like to get involved in this activity, please come along at 5pm any night. Children must be accompanied, assisted and supervised by their adults at all times for this activity.
Does the Garden serve food and drink?
Throughout the Pumpkin Lantern Festival, we’ll serve mulled wine, spiced cider & hot toddies from the Garden’s Cafe Bar.
