Welcome to Dalston Curve Garden

Our opening times for June 2021 are:

Sunday & Monday: 2-8pm
Tuesday – Saturday: 2-10pm*

* Starting on 22 June, the Garden will close at 7pm on Tuesday evenings.

In the event of extremely bad weather, we may have to close the Garden earlier than advertised.

We do not take bookings or hire the Garden

We created Dalston Curve Garden in 2010 to make up for the lack of green space in our neighbourhood. This means we have to prioritise keeping the Garden open for everyone to enjoy, so we do not hire the Garden or any part of it for private parties or wedding receptions.

Likewise we are unable to reserve tables. We do expect the Garden to be particularly popular and busy in the coming weeks, as COVID restrictions are gradually eased. Guidelines mean that our capacity is still restricted, so you may have to queue for entrance at busy times, in particular in the evening and on weekends.

We cannot accommodate birthday parties or gatherings of more than 8 people

Dalston Curve Garden is a relatively small space, abundant with areas of planting. In addition, we are currently restricting visitor numbers, in line with current COVID related rules. This means space for large group gatherings is extremely limited. So that we can ensure that even on busy days, the Garden remains safe, relaxing and welcoming to all, we are unable to accommodate birthday parties or gatherings of more than 8 people. This includes children’s parties, which we can only accommodate up to a maximum of 8 people, including children.

Food and Drink at the Garden

Our café is open during Garden opening times and proceeds from it are what pay for the operation of the Curve Garden. We serve teas, coffees and home-made cakes, inspired by and using ingredients picked from the garden. We also serve soft drinks, wine, and a range of locally brewed and distilled alcohol.

You are very welcome to bring food into the Garden, but we ask you to help keep the Garden beautiful by taking all of your own rubbish home with you afterwards. You cannot bring alcohol in for consumption, which has not been purchased in our Café.

COVID Guidelines

We ask all visitors to help keep themselves and others safe by continuing to adhere to current COVID rules and guidelines – with social distancing, checking in via the track and trace in our entrance area and using the hand-sanitisers that we provide.

Can you help the Garden recover from the last year?

As a social enterprise, Dalston Curve Garden generates all of its income from the proceeds of our Café. 12 months of total lockdowns and restrictions when open, have led to our income being severely reduced.

Throughout the year of restrictions, we continued to work hard with our team to nurture the plants and wildlife to ensure that the Garden thrived. We also set up and developed our programme of community support mornings for people who had been particularly badly impacted by the lockdowns, to meet safely together, having the Garden to themselves.

Now, we are busy planning ahead to make sure that the Garden continues to provide a much-needed safe, welcoming and beautiful outdoor space for the benefit of our community. If you would like to help the Curve Garden to recover from the past year of lost income, please consider donating to our Crowdfunder at: https://uk.gofundme.com/f/save-dalston-curve-garden
