May in the Garden

May 15, 2019

During the month of May, the Garden is open every day from 11am until 7pm and until 10pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Our spectacular tulips in pots have finished flowering for this year, which always makes us feel a bit sad. Fear not though, this month’s show-stopper plant Allium ‘Purple Sensation’ is popping up all over the Garden in all its purple glory. Every May when visitors see them,  they ask us ‘What is that amazing giant lolly-pop flower?’ Close cousins of onions, Alliums are bulbs which we plant here every Autumn. And the bees love them too!

Our  Cafe is open daily during Garden times, selling delicious home made plant based soups and our freshly baked cakes as well as our selection of local craft beers, cider and wine. With each purchase you make you help keep the Garden open every day and support our year-round community events and education programme.

Highlights for our calendar this month include:

Family Fridays with Double Bass Dan: Fridays 11.30-1pm

MIND ‘Take a Pause’ Festival of Well-being: Thursday 16 May, 6-8pm

Dalston Children’s Festival: Saturday 25 May, 1-5pm
